We were glad to be able to attend the service at Holy Trinity. The service was especially meaningful. Julie's eulogy was perfect in describing her father. Doug's singing was beautiful.
Pastor Tag was embedded in the lives of the Roger and Dot Kennedy family. When we learned of his passing, photos were immediately shared on our family text. Pastor Tag married Erin Kennedy and David Radle as well as Heather Jones (daughter of Karen Kennedy Jones) and Johnny Barrere. When Karen's child, Katie, was born with Spina Bifada, Pastor Tag not only baptized her at the hospital but also later in church. He officiated at Roger and Dot's 50th Wedding Anniversary Celebration in Picayune, Mississippi. Dot served alongside him at First English Lutheran Church in New Orleans, scheduling the acolytes and assisting with the confirmation classes. And he was there to lead us in celebrating Dot's life at her funeral. And...so much more.
Pastor Tag was also a part of my life. He loved my children, Laura and Emily Riemer. Emily told me, "He asked me to be Mary," in the Sunday School Christmas program. In later years my husband, Daniel Kennedy, and I visited Tag and Doris in their Folsom home. It was as if no time had passed and we were greeted enthusiastically with hugs. We gifted each member of our respective families with one of his nativity sets. They are treasured, for sure. Doris, we know your loss is great and we send our love to caress your heart. Please accepted our heartfelt condolences we send to each of you.

Pastor Taglauer was the only Pastor I've ever had in my life.
My family joined First English Church when I entered Junior High at St Paul on Franklin Ave back in 1979. And though I've visited other churches in my life, I've never joined another. His daughter Lisa and I attended St Paul Junior High & Lutheran High together for 6 years so I got to know the family and they are all wonderful people.
In church, his deep voice seemed to cut thru the falseness of life and bring life to the Word instead. He, himself, was like a biblical character.
He led my Confirmation & Communion and truly encouraged myself, and other kids at the school, that the real strength in life was God's love, but to have that strength, you had to adhere to God's law.
Pastor Tag, what we ALL called him, was a jovial spirit and was always looking for the next way he could help anyone with anything.

I moved away from New Orleans long ago and so I've missed him already. But I'm glad he was the only one for me.
He was the very image and voice of the Clergy in my mind and I never wanna change that.
My Love and prayers are for his wonderful family in this painful time and that they find reasons to laugh and enjoy each other as he'd have wanted so much.

The LORD bless you and keep you; The LORD make His face shine upon you, And be gracious to you; The LORD lift up His countenance upon you, And give you peace. ❤️

Pastor Tag was a good friend of my husband, Jay, when he was pastor at First English on Franklin Ave and my husband's automotive shop was on St. Claude Ave. Many times he came and used our boat to go fishing and had long talks with Jay. He officiated at my husband's funeral at St. John's on Canal Street and was a wonderful friend to him. He will be missed. I am so grateful that he was he our lives. Condolences to his family and I know he is RIP with our Savior.

Wishing all family members peace and comfort during this difficult time. Pastor Taglauer was the best dad, grandfather, and from what I have read the best Pastor and friend anyone could ask for. Thank you for helping so many people and changing their lives for the better. Sending prayers and hugs. Bonny Barry
