James Kevin Carroll's Obituary
James Kevin Carroll passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2009. He was 64 years old and a resident of the New Orleans area for the past 38 years. Jim was born in Bayonne, New Jersey and was a graduate of Villanova University and Tulane Law School. He was commissioned a second lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps and served as a platoon commander in the Republic of Vietnam. He retired from the Marine Corps as a captain. For the past 35 years, he maintained a litigation defense practice in New Orleans, and was actively engaged with the local bar association and the American Bar Association, where he has served as Chair and Section Council Member of the Tort Trial & Insurance Practice Section. He was also a member of the Mariners Clubs for the Ports of New Orleans and Houston.
Jim was the beloved husband of 40 years to Cynthia Taylor Carroll; loving father of K. Ross Carroll and his wife Ali; and Taylor Stephen Carroll and his wife Andi; grandfather to Skylar, Summer, Madison and Brady; and brother to Joseph and Robert Carroll.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to celebrate a Mass of Christian Burial in memory of Jim on Monday, August 10, 2009 at 2:00 PM at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, 1501 West Causeway Approach, Mandeville, LA 70471. Visitation AT THE CHURCH on Monday will begin at 12:00 Noon.
