James "Rory" Anderson's Obituary
James Rory Anderson, “Rory”, 69, of Mandeville, LA, passed away peacefully on December 19, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 29, 1956 in Spokane, WA, Rory was the fourth of five children of the late Robert Dennis Anderson and Patricia Hudon Anderson. From an early age, he was known for his quick wit, fun-loving attitude, and kindness to others.
Rory began his career in construction as a Superintendent at Anderson National in New Orleans, and went on to found his own renovation company, New Leaf Remodeling, in Baton Rouge in his late 30s. He had a great love of playing pool, and deeply enjoyed being with friends and family.
In 2005, Rory married the love of his life, Denise Carrone. Together they created a home filled with faith, laughter, and an open door for friends and family alike. Rory was a Eucharistic Minister for 20 years at St. Joseph Cathedral in Baton Rouge, LA, President of the Holy Name Society at Our Lady of Mercy in Baton Rouge, as well as a member of the Knights of Columbus.
Rory and Denise have resided in Mandeville since 2020 and were active parishioners at Our Lady of the Lake. It was Rory’s greatest wish that others know how much his faith in God and love of the Catholic Church had contributed to his fullness of joy.
He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Denise, siblings Robert Anderson, Mike Anderson, Suzanna Braun, and Thomas Anderson, his brother-in-law Tony Carrone; his sisters-in-law, Donna Carrone and Martha Anderson, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte St., Mandeville, LA 70448 on Wednesday, January 7, 2025 at 12:00 with visitation at church on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 AM until Mass time at 12:00. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Abbey Cemetery.
