UNDERNEATH HER DISGUISE
As I look at her face, I remember the days, When we'd lay, we snuggle, We'd laugh, and we chuckle.
She was my buddy, My hero, My confidant, My Idol.
She knew all my secrets, The good and the bad. Nothing from her I kept. Nothing I did would make her mad.
She'd mix up our names, Her words, and her stories. She'd say, "they're all the same, Absolutey, no worries."
It became more than a mishap, Parkinson's in fact. Not only did it make her shake, Her mind was at stake.
She lays in a bed, In her own little room She mumbles phrases and words, We've never heard.
As I look in her face, I'll remember this day.
Underneath her disguise....
She's still my best friend, Now and always, until the end.
