Gloria "Montiel" Freeman Doyle's Obituary
Gloria “Monteil” Freeman Doyle passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024 in Mandeville, LA. She was born on April 21, 1935 in Natchez, MS to the late Jessie Freeman and Sarah Sims Freeman.
Gloria was the beloved wife of the late Joe Doyle. Mother to Mike (Angele) Belk and preceded in death by her son Donnie (Kathy) Belk. She is the proud Mamaw or Granny to Erich (Amanda), Erin (Shelley, Jeremy (Amy), Jessica, and Alicia Belk. Great-Grandma “Gigi” to Rylee, Addyson, Tyler, Toby, Sadie, Bailey, Addisyn, Kylie Smith (Colin), Ethan and Locklyn Wilchinski.
Montiel is also survived by her sister, Patricia Wactor, and joins her other siblings whom have passed before her – Leo, James, Donald, Eulamae, and Edith (Doll).
Montiel loved working in her garden, cutting her grass and making anything grow with her green thumb. She was an excellent seamstress and was able to convert rags to riches through her talent.
She was feisty and didn’t take any BULL off anyone. (Her words)
Montiel “Mom, Mawmaw, Granny, and Gigi” will be greatly missed by her family.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects on Tuesday, July 23, 2024 at 9:00 AM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Graveside service will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens, Covington, LA.
