Gloria Lea Balsamo Mead born on June 4, 1937, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, August 19, 2012.
Beloved wife of the late Donald D. Mead. Loving daughter of the late Charles and Ruby Balsamo and sister to Betty Ann Balsamo Tapia. Devoted aunt of Charles Tapia, Leslea Tapia Parker and Jon Tapia (Betty). Caring great-aunt to Daniel Tapia, Elizabeth Tapia, Michael Tabia, Chad Parker, Alex Parker, Courtney Parker, Sydney Tapia and Connor Tapia. Doting great-great aunt to Ethan Parker, Jaedyn Parker and Kannon Wilcox.
She was born in New Orleans, a former resident of Coco Beach, Florida; Dallas, Texas; Mandeville, LA; and a recent resident of Covington, LA. She will be remembered for her kind heart and her love of God, family and friends.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at the Chapel of E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, August 24, 2012 at 11:00 AM.
Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until service time.
Graveside services with interment will be on Friday at 1:00 PM at Lake Lawn Cemetery, New Orleans, LA.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations in the memory of Gloria Lea Balsamo Mead to the American Cancer Society.
