Glenn Clyde and Marguerite Lala "Peggy" Young's Obituary
Glenn Clyde Young, age 95, of Mandeville, LA, passed away on Tuesday, May 6, 2025. He was born on August 13, 1929, in Lima, OH. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Young Puyau (Steve); six grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren; and many extended family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 50 years, Susan Mossbarger Young; his second wife, Marguerite (Peggy) Lala Young; two sons, Jack Clyde Young and James Robert Young; parents, Clyde Agnew Young and Emma Jane Reynolds Young; and siblings, Orville Young and Gail Young. Dr. Young was a 1952 graduate of the Chicago School of Optometry and enjoyed a successful career in Optometry. He founded and ran Custom Contact Lens Laboratory in New Orleans for over 30 years. Just eight days after his graduation, he married the former Susan Mossbarger. They shared over 50 years of marriage until her passing in 2004. He later married Marguerite Lala, with whom he shared 18 years of marriage.
Marguerite Lala Young, age 81, of Mandeville, LA, passed away on Monday, April 14, 2025. She was born on April 8, 1944 in New Orleans, LA. She is survived by her sister, Jean Lala Barousse (Irvin), one niece, six nephews and many great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Anthony Lala and Marie Charvet Lala, her brother, Rene Anthony Lala, and one nephew. "Peggy" was a 1962 graduate of Ursuline Academy, New Orleans, and attended SLU, Lafayette and LSUNO prior to her career as a secretary. She retired in 1999 with 22 years of service at LSU Medical School in downtown New Orleans. She lived 35 years in the Gentilly neighborhood before relocating to the Northshore in 1986. She married Glenn Young in 2007.
Both Glenn and Peggy spent the last 5+ years of their lives at Sage Lake Assisted Living, where they enjoyed an active social life while also benefiting from the special care and attention they received from the staff.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial mass on Saturday, June 14, 2025, at 12:30 PM at Our Lady of the Lake Roman Catholic Church, 312 Lafitte Street, Mandeville, Louisiana, with visitation beginning at 11:00 AM.
