You are all in our prayers.
Death date: Jun 19, 2007
Geraldine Estelle “Gerry” Chaplain passed away on Tuesday, June 19, 2007 after battling cancer. Survived by her husband Wallace Chaplain, Sr., four children, Diane Ferguson, Wallace Chaplain, Jr., Janet Chaplain-Leonard and Karen Read Obituary
You are all in our prayers.
Dear Wallace and family, My sympathies go to each one of you. Gerry was truly a devoted Christian and served the Lord in many ways. She will be missed.
May His peace be with you. With hugs, Bette Johnson
Our sympathies are with you all. I met Gerry at Atonement when our family first moved to Metairie in 1972. I went with Diane to youth group, folk choir, junior year in h.s., and summer camp. Gerry used to pick me up after school (a.m. platoon) to work at Ind. Metals and patiently taught me all about office work. Even as a senior at LHS, I continued to work with her. My Dad thought she was a jewel and convinced her to come work with him at ACBL. After my family was transferred out of state while I was in college, Gerry and Mr. Wallace let me live with them until I was married. I was included as another member of the family and I really needed that. I remember the chihuahuas, watching Wally play basketball for LHS, a big July 4th picnic and, years ago, attending their anniversary party in Covington. To Mr. Wallace, Diane, Wally, Janet, Karen, and all her family, Gerry was a second Mom to me and I will miss her.
Gerry lived as "What Would Jesus Do?" before it was a motto. We have lost a dedicated Christian worker and witness who always had a smile and helping hand for those around her. I know she is with the Lord now, but to those still here, there is a sad and empty place in our hearts.
With love from Debbie and Tommy Rongstad
I will be at the inurnment. I will very much miss Miss Gerry (as I always used to say Miss and she would tease). I have many memories of being with her and her family - Sunday I was going thru Barbies and repacking them which brought back a memory of "Miss" Gerry and me making Barbie clothes. And there are too many other memories to name them all. All of you will be in my prayers and I will never forget!
Janet and Family, We are so sorry for the loss of your Mother.
Lisa and Brian
Our deepest sympathy to the Chaplain family. Gerry will be greatly missed at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. She was a dedicated church worker.
My prayers are with the family for your loss.
I was just talking to someone recently about hotdogs. I seldom eat them anymore because for years, every Sunday Mrs Gerry and Mr Wallace, Diane, Wallace, Janet and Karen came over and we always had hotdogs. We will miss her very much.
My prayers are with you now and in the days to come. May God grant you his peace!
Dear Janet, I do not know the future, but I know the God who does. Your mom is resting from her labors in His mighty arms. May our Lord watch over you and the family during this difficult time and bring you peace in the resurrection.
