Gary Anthony Giordano's Obituary
HE DEAD.
This simple phrase is what Gary wanted his obituary to say, but there is so much more to his story.
He also wanted people to know his cause of death. Even though he had an incredibly big heart, it suddenly failed him in the end.
Gary Anthony Giordano was born in New Orleans, LA on December 13, 1956, to a proud Sicilian Orleanian family. He left us from the comfort of his home on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at the age of 69. After a wonderful and habitually productive day with his wife Susan, his heart tragically stopped.
Gary is survived by his wife and best friend, Susan Maurin Giordano; his children, Jessica Giordano (Katie Rehani), Julia Giordano (Nicholas Dischler, III), and Angela Fleury (Robert Fleury); and his grandchildren, Lily and Liam Fleury.
He is also survived by his parents, Benedetto “Benny” Giordano and Rose Vinterella Giordano; his siblings, Kim Campbell, Karen Nepute, and Kris Medieros; and his numerous cousins, in-laws, nieces, and nephews.
Dedicated to family, Gary adored living life with Susan; taught his daughters to be independent, strong, and ambitious women; was the goofiest Poppa G his grandchildren could have asked for; regularly visited and cared for his parents; and served as a dependable resource for his nieces and nephews.
Gary built deep, lifelong friendships filled with strong bonds, laughter, and adventure. He loved gathering with those closest to him to share good jokes, music, food, drinks, vacations, and (cheating at) card games.
Throughout his 40+ years as an engineer for Texaco and Chevron, Gary beamed with excitement over his individual accomplishments along with his mentorship of and advocacy for his associates.
Gary, his boisterous voice, and his vivacious laugh will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
