Frank Joseph Mondello, Jr.'s Obituary
Frank Joseph Mondello Jr., age 60, of Abita Springs, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 29, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank J. Mondello Sr., and his mother, Shirley B. Mondello. He is survived by his wife and dear friend, Linda B. Mondello, and his four children: Angela M. Bass (Taylor), Virginia R. Mondello (Arthur), Hannah M. Holly (Jonathan), and Frank J. Mondello III; as well as his granddaughter, Skyler Presley O’Bannon and soon to be born granddaughter, Evelyn Kate Holly. He also leaves behind his brother, John J. Mondello (Jackie), and sister, Denise M. Saucier (Donald).
Born in New Orleans, Frank spent his childhood in Chalmette. He then chose to enlist in the United States Marine Corps and faithfully served from 1971 to 1977. Frank was a veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a welder and pipe fitter for over thirty years before retiring as a welding inspector.
Frank loved his family and sacrificed daily for them; he leaves behind many cherished memories. His generous heart and infectious grin brought joy into the lives of everyone he met. Although Frank’s passing leaves many tears, his and his family’s hope in Christ ensures them that they will once again be united together.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial service at 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 8, 2013 at Lakeshore Church, 15261 E. Brewster Rd. Covington, LA 70433. A time of visitation at the church will begin at 4:00 PM.
