Frank Leo Deffes Jr., age 83, of Robert, LA entered eternal rest on November 2, 2021. Born on November 20, 1937 in New Orleans, LA to the late Frank Leo Deffes Sr. and Edith Esther Boze Deffes.
Beloved husband to Jacqueline Herzog Deffes for 59 years. He was a loving father to Stacey Deffes Greco (Francis), and Frank “Trey” Leo Deffes, III (Alicia). He was the proud grandfather “Gumps” to Chad F. Greco (Vaneesha), Amelie Greco Domingue (Christopher), Connor J. Greco (Hayley), Shelby Todd and Patricia Todd. Devoted and proud great grandfather to Emma Greco and Ethan Greco.
A native of New Orleans and resident of Robert, LA for 16 years. Frank graduated from St. Aloysius High School in New Orleans and from Southeastern Louisiana University with a Bachelor of Science. He was a longtime employee of the State of Louisiana as a Registered Sanitarian. Frank retired as the Chief Sanitarian of the Department of Health and Hospitals.
Frank was a devout Catholic, family oriented, loving, and kind person. He enjoyed spending time outdoors and loved fishing. However, his true passion was spending time with his loving family. Frank was well respected and will be deeply and dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Masses preferred in memory of Frank Leo Deffes, Jr.
Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass at St. Dominic Catholic Church, 55720 Highway 445, Husser, LA 70442 on Saturday, November 6, 2021 at 11:00 AM with visitation from 10:45 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service at St. Dominic Cemetery next to the church.
