Francis Andre Richard's Obituary
Francis Andre Richard, founder and chairman of the board of FARA (F. A. Richard & Associates) passed away on March 29, 2006 at Lakeview Regional Hospital in Covington, LA. He was 66 years old.
A veteran who served in Korea, Francis attended USL and started his insurance career with GAB in 1964. He founded F. A. Richard & Associates in Metairie, LA on 6-01-1978. Francis served as a panelist on numerous insurance industry conferences and was a qualified expert on determination of cause and origin of fires. He is a past president of the National Association of Safety & Claims Organizations, a past president of the Louisiana Independent Adjusters Association, and a past president of the New Orleans Claims Association. In 1995 he was named to the MIB Marine Hall of Fame.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 43 years, Dorothy Ventre Richard and their children: M. Todd Richard (wife, Norma), David M. Richard (wife, Hope), and Dionne C. Richard; and six grandchildren: Alexander, Harrison, Mindy, Joshua, Rebecca and Blake. He is also survived by his beloved brother, Arthur Marion Richard of St. Petersburg, FL and sister, Margaret Richard Dorsey of River Ridge, LA Relatives, friends and associates are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Mary Queen of Peace, 1501 West Causeway Approach on Saturday, April 1st at 10:00am. Internment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA
Visitation will be held at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home located at 2260 West 21st Ave, Covington, LA on Friday, March 31st from 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm
