Fr. Thomas Eugene Perrier, O.S.B.'s Obituary
Father Thomas Eugene Perrier, O.S.B., monk of Saint Joseph Abbey in Saint Benedict, Louisiana, died at the abbey on October 26, 2009. He was 56 years old.
Son of the late Eugene Perrier, III and Myrtle Weathers, Father Thomas was born Dec. 4 1952, in New Orleans, LA. He made his profession as a Benedictine Monk of Saint Joseph Abbey on July 10, 1975. He was ordained to the priesthood January 5, 1980.
He is survived by two sisters, Sister Rochelle Perrier, MSC and Sister Christine Perrier, MSC.
Father Thomas served as Director of Camp Abbey, Professor in St. Joseph Seminary College, Novice Master, and Director of the Christian Life Center.
Father Thomas’ body will be received at Saint Joseph Abbey on Thursday, October 29, 2009 at 5:15 P.M. followed by the singing of Vespers.
The Funeral Vigil will be held at 7:15 PM in the Abbey Church.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 30, 2009 at 11:15 AM at St. Joseph Abbey followed by burial in the Abbey Cemetery.
