Evelyn Kirkland Cook passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2007. She was the devoted wife of Norman C. Cook for over 60 years and beloved mother of N. Craig Cook and wife Jeanne Cook, and Carolyn Cook Gardner and husband Dr. Phil Read Obituary
I have fond memories of Evelyn and her kind and caring manner. I've never experienced such kindness and hospitality as when I stayed with her and Norman when Johnnie was at Oschner Hospt. She treated me like an honored guest and took me to the airport to return home. She had a wonderful way of making everyone feel special. Please know that our prayers and sympathy are with you all at this time and may all your wonderful memories of her comfort you always.
I called my sister Lorraine Deyo and told her about Evelyn's passing. Needless to say she was upset, she lost a dear friend.
I "E" mailed her the death notice from the paper.
Today I will call our mother and tell her, I know she too will feel the loss.
