Estelle "Dolly" Quave Barker's Obituary
Estelle “Dolly” Quave Barker passed away on Saturday, March 18, 2023.She was born in Bush, on June 25, 1935.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Harriet Barker Gaudet (Richard); her grandchildren, Alexander Barker Gaudet, Herb Williams and Connie Williams. She is also survived by her brother Merlie Jenkins and Sewilla Barker, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and wonderful lifelong friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harry Barker; her son, Larry Andrew Barker; her parents Rachel Jenkins Quave and James Virden Quave; and siblings, Ella Vee Jenkins, Mary Lou Rausch and Jimmy Quave; and her grandson, Andrew Mark Barker.
She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She worked for and retired from South Central Bell after 35 years of service. Dolly was a founding member of Shepherd’s Care Ministries and longtime volunteer at St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
The family expresses their deepest gratitude to the care provided by Hospice of St. Tammany Parish Hospital.
In lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Mrs. Barker be made to Shepherd’s Care Ministries.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services at Shepherd’s Care Ministries, 20115 Highway 1081, Covington LA 70435 Saturday, March 25, 2023, at 11:00 AM with visitation at church on Saturday beginning at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Barker McManus Cemetery
