Eric Shelton Davenport's Obituary
Our hearts are broken as we share the news of the passing of Eric Shelton Davenport, who is now in the presence of the Lord at the age of 56.
Born on the 7th of October 1969, Eric was a devoted husband, loving father, and loyal friend to all who knew him. Eric was born to his father Lawrence Davenport in Louisville, Kentucky After moving away as a child, he was later adopted by his dad Wade Keen in Abita Springs, Louisiana.
Eric spent his time loving the game of golf, hunting, enjoying college football, and religiously watching the NFL draft. Above all, Eric was known for his sense of humor and quick wit. He was always the biggest and loudest personality in the room and those who knew him knew that he was a people person at heart and loved to be surrounded by friends and family. Eric enjoyed making people laugh, but above all he loved his wife and daughters.
He married Bobette in 1992 and together they shared 33 wonderful years together where they had Brooke (23) and Audrey (19). He is preceded in death by his dad, Wade G. Keen and grandparents, Pete and Aileen Keen & Retta Katherine and Lawrence Davenport Sr. He is survived by his family including his brother, Chris Davenport, his brother-in-law, Rhome Lea, and his sister-in-law, Lou Anne Lea.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, May 27th from 12pm to 4pm at the Maritime Museum of Louisiana, 133 Mabel Drive, Madisonville, LA. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Northshore Humane Society to represent Eric’s love for his other two daughters, their dogs, Hope and Shiloh.
