Eric Raymond Bissel of Covington, Louisiana died December 27, 2023 at 4:15 am. He was born June 15, 1948 at Hotel Dieu in New Orleans.
He was the devoted husband of Bridget McCutcheon Bissel. Son of the late Colleen Carlin Bissel and Raymond Cornelius Bissel. Grandson of the late Cecelia Schenck Bissel and Joseph William Bissel and the late Myrtle Ford Carlin and James Henderson Carlin, Sr. Father of Eric Raymond Cornelius Bissel (Gillian Hynes Bissel) and Lucas William Bissel (Carley Parrish Bissel). Grandfather of Maurice Raymond Bissel, Franklin George Bissel, his future grandson Jean-Luc William Bissel. Preceded in death by his grandson Pierce William Bissel. Devoted Uncle of Raymond Cornelius Bissel and Cousins Becky Kidd and Lisa Maluff.
Fervent lifelong Democrat and delegate to the 1992 New York City National Democratic Convention.
A Mass thanking God for the many benefits bestowed upon this ordinary man will be held at Our Lady of Peace Chapel at St. Paul's School in Covington, Louisiana at 3:30 pm on January 6, 2024.
