My heartfelt condolences to all family and friends grieving this loss. Learning that my uncle passed away while I slept soundly was at first really sad and disturbing to me, but then I found peace in realizing he was no longer struggling and would be joyously welcomed as he always had been on earth by my mom and grandpa now in heaven or so I choose to believe. Uncle Tony always made me laugh and smile. He was a rebel with a big heart who lived life on his own terms. I will always remember his beautiful eyes. I will always remember witnessing his strength and conviction which was examples through his whole life. I saw it first as a small child lying on the floor under his turned hospital bed when he was immobilized and when he helped care for his dad allowing him as much dignity as possible in his last days. I will always laugh when thinking about how he was involved in my getting a pair of white go-go boots at a young age and his trying to get out of that one with my mom. I will remember his standing expectation for my sisters and I to whip him up homemade burgers and fries when he zipped through town all while he was in his office (papa's bathroom) on that old black dial phone connecting with friends. I'll remember that he made a point of getting to know my son as a baby and through the years as possible. I plan on going to a honkey tonk wearing boots and having a shot of whiskey as I toast his life! He was s special guy and he will be forever missed and will remain in the hearts of all those he touched. Love, Lou (Pearland, TX)
