Ellen Hagood Franklin's Obituary
Ellen Hagood Franklin passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015. A resident of Covington, LA since 1972, she was born in Hamilton, OH on Friday, July 03, 1931 to Maude Eva Selby and James Stephen Hagood.
The beloved wife of the late George Joseph Franklin, she is survived by her daughter - Kathleen Franklin; son - John Franklin with his wife Selva and their son Burak; son - James Franklin with his wife Cherie and his daughter Andrea; and son - Michael Franklin.
She graduated from The Ohio State University in 1953 and was a teacher for most of her life, most recently teaching at Our Lady of the Lake School in Mandeville from 1979 to 1987 and at Fifth Ward Junior High in Bush from 1987 to 1997. She also served as a volunteer child advocate for CASA. She was a member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Mandeville, LA.
A private service for relatives and friends will be held on Monday, January 4, 2016.
Committal services will take place at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington, LA where she will be laid to rest with her beloved George.
