I was deeply saddened to hear of your passing Sgt. Thompson. I am honestly still in disbelief. I want to thank you for the advice you gave me and for taking me under your wing. You were indeed the section’s “Dad” lol. We all came to you with our problems and you always listened. Thank you not only for your service and dedication to the Army, but also for your dedication to the people in your section. I will miss you so much, may you rest in peace. I am at a loss for words SFC Thompson was an amazing person and valued member of the 204th National Guard unit. He was practically a father figured to most of the lower enlisted members and we could go to him for just about anything and he would just be there to listen and if you needed advice he was always available to give it. I would often find myself in his office just sitting there talking to him about life and we would both talk about our families or what's been going on in between drills. He was such an amazing soul and generous person. He would go to bat for just about anyone at that unit. He truly cared for the soldiers at the unit under him and will be most definitely missed.
I'm am so very sorry for your loss! Truly. He is a very special person that will always have a place in my husband and I's life. He gave me the father speech when we told him we got engaged and always asked me if I was sure lol. He always was someone we could go to with anything no matter what it was. He was always as honest and straight forward as he could be with his opinions. I'm greatful to have been apart of his life! Again I am truly sorry for you loss! If y'all need anything at all no matter the time of day we are here for you!
