Life is a wonderful gift so when someone we love and care about dies it is a blow to us all, therefore we give thanks to God for all is comfort in these difficult times. Rev. 21:3-5
She always brought such vivid light into any room. Her joy was palpable. I always felt welcomed whenever I saw her. I thank God for her life. With all my love.
Auntie Dorothy (‘Dolly’) will always be a hugely important influence on my life. I have been lucky enough to spend precious time with her both in the UK when she visited us, and in the US when I’ve flown out, on vacation.
My fondest US memories include whiling away hours chatting on a lazy sunny summer afternoon in the conservatory at Julietta House in Gloucester MA., and relaxing with her and all our US family at Gayle & Gary’s house in Phoenix.
My fondest UK memories range from sitting with her as a young child at Grandma’s house back in the 70s, listening attentively to her stories, to the beautiful summer day when Anne & I showed her around Chatsworth House in the Peak District.
We will celebrate Auntie Dolly’s life and everything that she gave to all who knew and loved her. What a remarkable thing to be so loved by so many on both sides of the Atlantic and far beyond. What a remarkable lady from Manchester.
Laughing and singing, especially Broadway tunes, with 'Mamacita', and sharing our Amaryllis bulbs so she could plant them in Gayle's yard. Hearing her talk about Jesus!
We will miss her! Anita H-M
