Praise the Lord for Dewey! He surely rests in peace.

Your gift of your service to God through your service to St. Peter Catholic Church in Covington, LA. is without saying what our Lord Jesus Christ wants of all his children. My favorite words from one of the parochial priests you served under, whenever I was flustered by you was: "That's Dewey". And I would chuckle and say Amen, thank God for Dewey.
I too fondly remember Dewey's faithfull whatever-i-can-do type service to Holy Rosary parish for many years. His reverence while serving Mass inspired me. I will remember him on All Saint's and especially All Souls Day.

We're so saddened to learn about Dewey's passing. And I'm ashamed not to have kept up with him as I'd intended, hoping probably naively that his health problems were under control for a good while. My wife Gail's words on seeing the news were: "He was the best soul," and he was. In this ever more evil world, if anyone deserved health and longevity it was Dewey. . .I wish his lifelong abiding faith had rewarded him with that.
Here in Cleveland, from way back in the 70's I was lucky enough to have Dewey act as property manager for some residential rental houses I owned. That service he performed
flawlessly, despite also working full time in the hospital OR. I never had to worry about maintenance, problem tenants, etc. He just simply took care of things. Humbly. Reliably. METICULOUSLY. He was, if I may say, a "neat freak," and I'm so glad he was.
Dewey was kind, gentle, humorous, selfless, generous. As I could only wish to do myself, he made the world a better place. Many individuals, both human and feline, were blessed to know him.
My heartfelt sympathy to Dewey's family.
Dewey was an active and greatly valued member of Holy Rosary Church, in Cleveland's Little Italy, where I was in residence during the 70's and 80's.
I remember with great joy his faith, friendship, and willingness to serve in many different roles. Even though I lost contact with him when I moved from Holy Rosary, he was not forgotten.
I am sorry to hear that he passed away so soon (I am a couple of years older than him!).
I will offer a Mass for him and pray for the comfort of his loved ones.
Blessings of hope and peace.
