I was working on a family tree for the Murray/Heekin/Dundin family. I came upon this website and the memorial video brought tears to my eyes. Uncle Doc was my mother Stella's brother.(They were 14 months apart.) She loved him dearly. With him in the New Orlean's area and she was in the Washington, D.C. area contact was thru phone, letters and visits. The family stories he would tell about growing up with my mom !! I learned more about the Murray's from him then anyone else. When my mother was diagnosed with cancer, Uncle Doc was a constant support and after her death I received many calls. I loved that man thru his kindness shown to my mom and I witnessed the love he had for his wife and family. He helped me thru a difficult time after mom's death.. It was also nice to see two pictures of my mom in the video that I had never seen before.

I will miss my grandfather terribly, but I will always have many wonderful memories of the times I have spent with him over the years. I know from talking to him over the past few weeks that he had no regrets. He told me a couple of weeks ago that he loved my grandmother now "as much as I did 80 years ago when I first saw her" and that he viewed his family as "his reward". I thank God for the peace he had in his last days and certainly could not ask for more than that.
