David John Ellis Jr.'s Obituary
David John Ellis, Jr., beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away peacefully due to complications of Multiple Sclerosis on May 16, 2025, at the age of 73. Born aboard the U.S.N.S. C.G. Morton naval ship on November 24, 1951, David’s life began on the open seas and was marked by a quiet strength, deep loyalty, and an unwavering devotion to his family.
He lived in Kenner, LA for many years before he made his home in Abita Springs, LA, where he shared 44 wonderful years of marriage with his loving wife, Linda Ellis. Together, they built a life full of laughter, resilience, and love. David was a proud and devoted father to his two daughters, Michelle Mardis and Stacy Dronet, who were the lights of his life.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. David J. Ellis and Billie Ellis and his sister, Sharyn Duda. He is survived by his soulmate of 44 years, Linda Ellis, his children, Stacy Dronet (Patrick) and Michelle Mardis (Bill) and also survived by 6 grandchildren, Macie Hebert, Mackenzie Dronet, Kayden Ellis, Berkeley Mardis, Bennett Mardis and McKinley Mardis and his siblings, Bill Ellis (Tara), Susan Berghan (Tom) and Pamela Allison (Michael) .
David will be remembered for his quiet presence, his steady guidance, and the love he gave so freely. His legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and cherished him.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, May 22, 2025 at 11:00 am at E J Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, LA and the visitation will begin at 9:00 am until service time. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens and Cemetery.
