Charles Frederick, Jr.'s Obituary
Charles A. Frederick, Jr. passed away on Friday, August 29, 2008 at the age of 78.
He was the son of the late Maria Charles Frederick and Charles A. Frederick, Sr., and the brother to Andree Dupuy and the late Yvonne Crowder. Charles was the beloved husband of the late Yvonne Fussell Frederick; Father of Maria Frederick Vincent; Step-father of Janis Johnson and Iris Cooper; Grandfather of William Evan Johnson II, George Frederick Johnson, Otha Ray Jenkins III, Melissa Chandel Jenkins, and Kaley Maria Vincent; Great-Grandfather of Amanda, Sarah, and Emily Jenkins; Uncle of Robert St. Romain, Pat Bartholomew, Judy Gernand, and Renee Bethel, and numerous great nieces and nephews.
Buster, as he was known by family and friends, was a servant to his country and his community. As a member of the United States Army, he served in the Korean War. Closer to home, he was a Master Plumber by trade, a skill handed down to him by his father. He went on to establish and operate Frederick Plumbing for many years. Though at times Charlie had to travel for the armed services or for work, he always returned to his place of birth, Abita Springs. He called Abita “The Springs” and it was where his heart lay. He was a life long resident of the Abita Springs community and a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church. Charlie accomplished much in his lifetime. He was a member of the American Legion, an Abita Springs Alderman, a member of the Abita Springs Men’s Club, and served as Board Member for the St. Tammany Parish Hospital for 38 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a memorial service to be held at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Abita Springs on Saturday, September 20, 2008 at 2:00 p.m.
Visitation will begin at 12:30 and will continue until service time.
Interment will be private. E.J. Fielding Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Donations in his memory can be made to St. Tammany Parish Hospital’s Hospice of St. Tammany.
