Maria and family please know that Mr. Charlie will be missed by so many. Mr. Charlie went to grammar school here in Abita with my stepfather, Fenwick Stire and we spoke of the old days and what Abita was like. The Abita Cafe was our contact point for breakfast and meeting. His table will be vacant but we will always know that he is with us. We will miss not seeing his truck around town and at the cafe. I moved to Abita in 1991 and would see Mr. Charlie around alot and wave and say hello when passing at Rauch's or Abita Cafe. Until recently, 12 months or so, I can proudly say we became close friends. he was a life long resident of Abita, and had realy nice memories. I know he had a heart of GOLD. I know he missed his wife of 50+ years very much. I know he didn't have a single enemy. I know he was a good GOD fearing Man. I'm going to miss him very much, having a beer or 2 at O's shed in the evening. I feel confident that he is in Heaven, reunited with his soulmate.He is going to be missed by many, and we should carry on his good hearted ways he had for "Everyone". May he rest in peace.
