We will always remember Charlene's love of nature especially the birds and even the raccoons. You could always see the hummingbird feeder filled in her yard.
She was an avid reader and when she could no longer get out...I enjoyed going to the library to get books that she requested...sometimes I would bring her over twenty books each month. She liked to read historical fiction, mysteries and light romance.
Herb would tell us how they met on a train while he was in the service during WWII....it was very romantic. I know they loved each other very much during their 65 years of marriage.
She did not like hurricanes, especially after Katrina, and came to our house to spend a few nights when a hurricane approached a few months later.
We will miss her and know that all her family and friends will give Herb the emotional support that he will need.
