One very nice man, and a wonderful father he was.
I remember that Betty was visiting Glenna in California and she was so excited to be going home! Not because she wasn't having a wonderful visit but she was looking forward to her "date" with Calvin. I had not met Calvin yet and when I did you could see that it was a match made in heaven! Rest in Peace Calvin. Love you Betty. He'll always be with you💓
Condolences to Betty on her loss. Calvin was her life, her love, her family, her everything. And he loved her with every breathe he took and was not afraid to show it. He was a man of few words never harsh ones. He always had a smile even when sickness took over his frail body. Dave and I will miss Calvin, but we are honored to give him and Betty a Veterans final farewell. I had the privilege of working with Mr. Calvin when he was a member of the Board of Aldermen of the Town of Abita Springs in the 1990s. He commanded a great deal of respect and admiration as he was always respectful and honest in his dealings with everyone. He served the town well and was always friendly to everyone he met. He was also an excellent husband to Betty and I used to enjoy running into them on the streets of Abita when my wife and I would be walking. We have lost a great man and citizen of the Town. He will be sadly missed.

One of my favorite memories was the greeting Calvin recorded for their phone messages. He could tell Cajun jokes that had us all falling off our chairs. And what a cook. I'm so thankful for the happiness he shared with my dear friend, Betty.
