Branch J. Smith, Sr.'s Obituary
Branch Joseph Smith, Sr. passed away Monday, April 30, 2007.
He was born in New Orleans on April 4, 1952 to Rose Montegut Smith and the late Marvin A. Smith, Sr. Husband of the late Janie Lott Smith, he has been a resident of Covington for the past 13 years. He is survived by two sons, Sean and B.J. Smith; one brother, Marvin A., Jr. and four sisters: Jody Brouillette, Karen Guidry, Cindy Chauppette and Julie Metzler. He will be dearly missed by his devoted friend Janis Vernado and three granddaughters: Ayva and Victoria Smith and Angelle St. Amant.
Mr. Smith worked for the Port of New Orleans for 36 years, most recently as Superintendent.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Wednesday, May 2, 2007 at 12 :00 Noon from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433. Visiting hours will begin at 10:00 AM.
Interment will follow Mass at Pinecrest Memorial Gardens in Covington.
