Billy Wayne McGaha's Obituary
Billy Wayne McGaha passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the age of 77. Beloved husband of 54 years to Yvonne Gauthier McGaha. Loving father of Michael McGaha (Ashley), Julie McGaha Manuel (Joe), Lori McGaha Schroeder (Rob) and Allison McGaha. Son of the late Clemmie Hughes Williams and Homer Leo McGaha. Brother of Pamela Knight and the late Patricia Arbo. Grandfather of Peyton, Paige and Reece McGaha, Elizabeth and Josh Manuel, and Austin and Katherine Schroeder.
Mr. McGaha was a 30 year veteran of the New Orleans Police Department and retired with the rank of Major. He was a graduate of the FBI National Academy for Police and a member of the Fraternal Order of Police. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and spending time with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial services at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Avenue, Covington, LA 70433 on Friday, January 19, 2018 at 11:00 AM with visitation on Friday beginning at 9:00 AM.
Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Mr. McGaha to be made to the American Heart Association.
