Betsy was a true treasure while growing up. She was always kind and thoughtful and always seemed to be on an even keel. The angels were singing when she arrived. Blessings to you.

I remember Betsy refereeing the Thanksgiving dinners we used to share with them and some of their other friends years ago. She was always a gracious hostess and just a lot of fun to be with - just really herself. At one of those dinners about 30 years ago she gave me a cutting off of her night blooming cereus. I rooted that cutting and today that plant is flourishing and has given multiple other cuttings so others can enjoy its blooms. I think the plant must have absorbed some of Betsy's ability to spread fun and happiness everywhere she went. Even though I haven't seen her a lot recently, I will still miss her.

Dear Girls,
I first met your mother when you were babies, and I your baby sitter. Even with two active little girls, your sweet mother was full of fun and kindness. Later we became good friends. I was baptized in your family pool at one of the many whole-church picnics back in the early days of Tammany Christian Fellowship. Many of us met at your house after you had gone off to college for a wonderful community group of Bible study and prayer. Your mother's faith was real and growing. She will be remembered with great love by so many in this community! I think of her bright smile, sweet spirit, and steady faith in Christ, which never changed over the years as we grew older together -- except to grow ever stronger!
I find it the strongest comfort to rest in these words found in John 11:25-26:
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in Me will live even if he dies, and everyone who lives and believes in Me will never die.
Your sweet mother is with Jesus. You will see her again and so will I. May the Father bless and keep you through this sad time, but take heart in His promises, for He is good and faithful to us.
With Love,
Eugenie Martin
on behalf of my wife and i and the 1959 newman high school class, our deepest sympathies to all of Betsy's friends and entire family. betsy was very popular, and always outgoing and friendly to everyone. it was always a delight to see her at many class reunions. despite her physical status, her good friend and classmate ann bartee Morton and her husband chuck brought her to our 55th reunion back in march! I had the pleasure of visiting about 30 or so minutes with her, and her good humor still showed! betsy, we all love and will miss you. you will not be forgotten!
