Barbara Dodd Capdevielle-Minnick's Obituary
Barbara Dodd Capdevielle-Minnick died on January 9, 2014 at age 90. She was born in Iowa City, Iowa and relocated to New Orleans as an infant. She relocated to Houston, Texas after hurricane Katrina.
Barbara was the widow of the late Christian T. Capdevielle, Jr. and the late John Bradley Minnick. She is survived by her four children: Barbara Capdevielle Matthews (Ben), Willard Christian Capdevielle (Fran), Catherine Capdevielle Musso (Brian) and Thomas Paul Charles Capdevielle (Cindy); four step children: Lindy Minnick, Trish Klayer, Barbie Gibson, and Donald Minnick; six grandchildren: Juliette Capdevielle, Ben Matthews IV, Christian B. Capdevielle, Jennifer Matthews O’Brien, David Musso and Jessica Capdevielle, five great-grandchildren: Avery O’Brien, Megan O’Brien, Benny Matthews V, Christian Matthews, and Annelise O’Brien; and many step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Barbara graduated from Sophie B Wright Girls High School, and St. Mary’s Dominican College. From a very young age, Barbara had a passion for the ballet.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral mass at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 13, 2014 at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433.
Visiting hours on Monday will begin at 9:00 AM.
Interment at Hope Mausoleum in New Orleans, LA will immediately follow mass.
