Barbara's many friends and classmates from Sweet Briar College class of 1970 have many warm memories of Barbara. Our sincerest sympathies to her family & friends.
We'll always remember that ready smile & hearty laugh.
May you find comfort and healing in the love of those who remember with you.
Barbara was very special to my heart, and will be missed by all of her family and friends. She had a voice that I will always remember. Aunt Barbara also had a deep compassion for her beliefs, love of people, animals, and nature.
She loved the beaches, taking fun trips, and, fun adventure. Although (the teacher side) of Barbara had a serious side, she also had a very funny sense of humor. I always loved to make her laugh!
Family was very important to Barbara. Being the only girl in a family with 3 brothers (Gary, Richard, and Terrell), Barbara was very strong-minded, and stood out like a shining light. She also loved my mother Diane, and also my father, Terrell, who absolutely adored his little sister.
Barbara always had a special place in our hearts - and she kept up with the 5 brothers - her nephews: Wayne, Cliff, Richie, Jack, and Danny.
She lived far away for a long time, and she always kept in touch. In the later years, she returned to New Orleans to be closer to her mother (Ruby/Mommie), and her family.
I also remember Barbara recently saying, to always continue to honor, cherish, and remember those loved ones that are no longer with uBarbara was very special to my heart, and will be missed by all of her family and friends. Aunt Barbara, you are now resting in peace, and it is not easy to say goodbye. I will never forget you - and I still see - and remember you smiling that beautiful smile up above.
My love for you will always be there, and you will forever be remembered and appreciated.
Love you forever!
Jack Brewsters.
Aunt Barbara was a very special aunt to me as she babysat five of us nephews(including myself) one time in our Hattiesburg, MS house while we were very young. It seems a mouse found its way into the kitchen and was chasing us around the house for a while which led to a lot of screams and then laughter. When I was older and in college at Tulane University. she sat me down and gave me a beautiful reflection via different philosophies on how different people look at life differently through the lens they are provided with in their raising and education. This taught me tolerance and love for others in the long run. Thank you Barbara for being there for me in some of my most trying times.
We also had some great times with you at Mommie's during the holidays as well as at my mom Diane's Covington house in the later years.
We love you always,
T Wayne and Mary Jane Brewster
