Andrew Anthony Jaufre's Obituary
Andrew Anthony Jaufre, Sr. peacefully departed this life on Tuesday, May 22, 2007.
He was born July 8, 1933 to the late Enola King Jaufre and the late Andrew Leopold Jaufre in New Orleans, LA.
Beloved husband of 50 years of Mary Margaret O’Henly Jaufre. Andrew and Mary met at a Herman Sons dance in San Antoino, TX in 1956. Their dancing continued through travels, casino trips and family celebrations. Andrew was the father of Andrew A. Jaufre, Jr. and his wife Diana, Raymond J. Jaufre, Sr. and his partner Helen Caronna, Deborah J. Rinaldi and her husband Skipper and Bruce P. Jaufre, Sr; grandfather to Raymond J. Jaufre, Jr. and his partner Michelle Hutton, Amanda N. Kinsey and her fiancé Jeffery Speight, Dustin L. Kinsey, Ryan J. Jaufre, Bruce P. Jaufre, Jr., Tyler Rinaldi and Rachel L. Jaufre; great grandfather to Dylan R. Jaufre, Kaylee Jaufre and Collin Speight; brother to Gay Ramon, Rosary Bate, Carol King, Karl King, Glenn Jaufre and Eugene Jaufre; brother-in-law to Ralph O’Henly, Gayla Sterzinger and Ruby O’Henly.
From 1953 to 1963 during the Korean Conflict, Andrew served his country as a Staff Sargent in the United States Air Force. After serving his country, he worked for Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette, LA as a production supervisor from 1963 to 1983. After retirement he worked for Mason Chamberland for some 6 ½ years. The love for his family was always obvious, but he always held a special affection for his grandchildren, they were the joy of his life.
He was devoted to family, fun, fishing, and especially LSU sports.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to a Celebration of Mass on Thursday, May 24, 2007 at 4:00 PM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 2:00 PM until mass time.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer contributions in memory of Andrew to St. Jude’s Children Research Hospital, Post Office Box 50, Memphis, TN 38101-9929
