A EULOGY TO MY FATHER-IN-LAW
We live in a new world of technology and my father in law was at the top of the list when it comes to being technology challenged. He didn't take advantage of the things we take for granted that would have made his life easier.
So what the point? The point is that whenever any of his children or grandchildren needed anything he was there. He was there because he made time for the things that really mattered, he didn't’t fall prey to the technology that sucks the so little time we have on this earth; the so little time we have to really make a difference.
My father in law certainly made a difference, he made a difference because he showed up and he was there.
To those of you young and old, I say take time to smell the roses; this journey through live is ever so short and fragile. Andrew went very quickly, less than 48 hours. Don’t get sucked into believing that quality of time that you spend with those that are important to you will ever will make up for the lack of quantity of time that you spend with them, justifying that quality is more important than quantity.
Andrew was a good man; a good provider, a good husband, a good father and yes a good father-in-law; but most importantly he was also my good friend: a friend that will be greatly missed.
