Zula Mae Burnham "Boots" Cox's Obituary
Zula Mae Burnham "Boots" Cox passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2014 at home in Folsom, LA. She was born on November 28, 1926 in Brandon, MS to the late Hugh Joshua Burnham and Zula Mae Parsons Burnham.
Boots was married to her beloved husband, the late Kenneth John Cox for 43 years and together they had two children, Carol C. Zamjahn (Kevin) and Kelly C. Vicari. She leaves behind eight precious grandchildren, Christopher Zamjahn, Joshua Zamjahn, Lauren Zamjahn, Kenneth Vicari, Courteney Vicari, Kaitlin Vicari, Christina Vicari, and Korinne Vicari. Boots was the sister of the late Ira Burnham, Mary Burnham, Emory Burnham, Jack Burnham, Suzanne B. Speer, and William “Bill” Burnham. She was the aunt of Brock Burnham, Blake Burnham, Brad Burnham, Syd Speer, Jr., and Pollyanne Speer.
Boots attended Milsaps College in Jackson, MS and was a member of Phi Mu Sorority. After college, she completed her education at Charity Hospital School of Nursing and earned her certification as a Registered Nurse. During her career, she served patients at Charity Hospital, Greenbriar Hospital. Boots finished her career as a home health nurse in Covington, LA.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Service on Monday, November 24, 2014 at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433, at 12:00 Noon with Visitation from 10:00 AM until service time. Interment will follow the service at Lakelawn Park Mausoleum, 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124. Please, Share a Memory on the Tribute Wall.
