I can't express how much I respected and liked Capt. Billy, he decked with me and then gave me my first Captains job when I was only 19 years old. Capt. Billy was tough, but fair with his employees and I can honestly say I'll sure miss him even though we have lost contact over the years. THe many things he done on the river and for Tulane University was well appreciated and I know Capt. Billy is in Heaven with God, he was truly a great man. May God Bless his soul.
I am very sorry to hear of Capt. Billy's passing. I had the pleasure of working for him at Bisso. I knew both Scott and Billy Jr well. Billy and I worked together on the mary S one summer. I am far removed now from my time on the river, but I think of it often and remember the good times I had their, times which Capt Billy allowed me by employing me. Rest in peace captain.
My heart is aching for you and for your family. I'm so glad I knew him.
