I recall Mr. Simmons from CHS, but my most memorable run-in was the last week Tugy's was ever open. I got the chance to go in and he served me a cold beer with a smile. He will be missed.
Mrs. Amy, I am sorry to here of Mr. Syd's passing. He was a great teacher and always a character in the halls. He always made the days pass with laughter. 98-01 were the happiest years of my life because of the both of you. I am so very sorry to here about his passing. He is making God laugh and build bird houses. My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family at this time and to the people that were blessed in life to call him family, friend, and teacher. Mr. Simmons was my shop teacher back in the 80's at CHS. He was the coolest teacher around. Loved him. Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers at this time. God bless.

Sid was a cousin I grew up with. Our families would visit each other, and the boys--Buddy, Sid, Ray, and I--would be constant companions during the visits. As we grew up into adulthood, we went separate ways, but we still remember each other. Sid and I had the mutual identity of being a teacher. You have our sympathy and prayers.

My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. Since I work with Kent, I know what Sidney and you have been going through this last year. My brother went to school with Sidney. He was shocked to hear about Sidney's passing. Bobby had intended to get together with Sidney during a visit to Picayune, but the timing never worked out right. Now he is sorry he didn't make the time and will never get to visit with Sidney.
