Hi,
I extend my warmest condolences to the family.
I have beautiful memories of your loved one. He was my coach at Carrollton Boosters 100 pound football in 1967. I weighed 65.
I remember the first practice like it was yesterday. It was a scrimmage on a Thursday night under the lights. I have never been more excited, or happier, as that first night at Carrollton. I had cleats and everything.
Late in the scrimmage, Coach Rosevally put me at linebacker. Someone said, 'Plug the hole.' After the scrimmage, Coach Rosevally excoriated the team - called 'em a bunch of pussies, etc.
Then he switched directions. He said, 'Only one of you showed any guts out there tonight!' The new kid.' He looked at me, 'Stand up. What's your name?'
To be singled out, to win praise, to feel special, Bill Rosevally did all that for me. But he made me earn it. That was part of his gift.
