Captain William Philibert Fontana Sr.'s Obituary
CAPTAIN WILLIAM PHILIBERT FONTANA, SR.
On January 1, 2023, a good man died after fighting cancers since 2006. He was so loved by his parents, TeeTee and Charlie. He will forever be loved and missed by his wife, Dianne, his children, Scott and Stacie Brownell, Billy, Ben and Tiffany Fontana. He also had four grandsons, Jake (who nicknamed him “Bull” when he was old enough to speak) and Griffin Brownell, and Walker and Beau Fontana. He had countless good friends and family who will miss him dearly. Bill accomplished the number one thing on his bucket list. He self taught what he needed to know to become a Coast Guard 100-ton Master Captain. He then started B&B Charters in 2001 and fished for the big ones in the Gulf of Mexico. Every time he left the dock in Grand Isle, he prayed to God to keep everyone from harm and get them back to the dock safely and “oh, yeah. Can we please catch some fish?” Then Katrina hit and his first malignant brain tumor was found. Since then, Bill has fought three different types of cancers with a vengeance until New Years Day when he couldn’t fight anymore. “Good bye for now, My Love. Please have our little white house with sky blue shutters ready for us when I see you again. Remember, flowers in the front and veggies in the back and NO WEEDS.” There will be no formal services at Bill’s request.
E.J. Fielding Funeral Home has been entrusted with funeral arrangements. Please sign the guestbook at www.ejfieldingfh.com.
