I have many fond memories of working with Rush and later being neighbors on Canal Blvd. He was kind enough to introduce sushi and quality beer to me which has put decent size hole in my budget. Very sorry to hear about to hear of his passing.
Rushmore was an action move, a page turning novel, a restless spirit, and a great song. He blazed his way through our lives and now is at rest. I am thankful to have called him friend.
Kathe, Toni, & Bill, I'm so sorry for your loss, I was looking forward to spending time with Rush and you all once I move back to New Orleans. We had so many things we wanted to cook! I do hope to see you soon.

Kathy and Toni. I am just crushed with the morning paper. Crushed. Please call me. He was my big brother. Protected me from the neighborhood bullies. Saved my eye in a sand war. Made me cool by taking me up to his room to play records . Once we snuck out and put his grandmother's THUNDERBIRD in gear! While she was inside distracted by her basset hound. I remember him and me taking a painfully long walk to the barbershop to have his fire engine red hair cut at our fathers' demands. The 1960's! We were both humiliated but got over it be the time we got home. The man showered me in kindness. Good manners were his nature. I grew up around Rush and he always made me feel so special. He was always so full of life and loved making people happy. Rest in peace.
