William A. "Terry" Buchanan II's Obituary
William A. “Terry” Buchanan, II passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 11, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was 81. He was preceded in death by his parents, William A Buchanan and Blanche Buchanan Lagman. He is survived by his loving wife, Sydney Baehr Buchanan, his children, William A. Buchanan, III (Tammy), Nancy Buchanan Cavalier and Rebekah Buchanan Millet (Steve) and his grandchildren, Vivian Buchanan Wilson (Mike), Sydney K. Studdard, Steve Millet, Jr., Alex Millet, and his sister, Bonnie Buchanan Moate. Terry was born in New Orleans, LA and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior in August of 1973. He was a longtime resident of Covington, LA and member of First Baptist Church of Covington. He was a telephone repairman for Western Electric (AT&T) and later worked for Home Depot.
Terry loved fishing. Whether simply standing on a pier casting a line, or out on his boat, he enjoyed the peacefulness of nature and the excitement of landing anything that nibbled at his hook. He also looked forward to his annual family vacations to Destin, Florida, where even there his love of fishing came along on the trip, as he’d bring a fishing net to help his grandkids catch minnows in the gulf.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service on March 27th, 2025 at 10:00 AM at The Chapel at First Baptist Church of Covington, 16054 Murphy Road, Covington, LA and the visitation will begin at 9:00 AM until service time at the chapel. Light refreshments will be served after the service in the Garden Room at The Chapel. Interment will be private.
