William "Bill" R. Derby's Obituary
William R. Derby passed away on Saturday, March 6, 2021 in Covington, LA. He was born on December 4, 1950 in Concord, NH to Norwin Cedric Derby and the late Joan Coombs Derby.
Bill was the beloved husband of Linda Badeaux Derby for 38 years. He is survived by his step-son, Stephen Ray Messina, Sr. Bill was the proud grandfather of Stephen Ray Messina, Jr. He was the brother of Steve Derby (Terry) of Corsicana, TX, Elaine Derby of Sherman, TX. Bill was the uncle of Christi Derby Roberts, Gregory Schmuck of Sherman, TX, and Tommy Schmuck (Meredith) of League City, TX. He is also survived by his father and his wife Kathy Derby of Greenville, TX. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joan Coombs Derby, brother, Norman Derby, paternal grandparents, Roger Coombs and Viola Lockwood Coombs, and his maternal grandparents, Clyde Arthur Derby and Thelma Dennis Derby.
Bill was an account analyst with Inspectorate / Bureau Veritas for the last 6 years. Prior to Inspectorate, he worked for over 33 years with Saybolt, A Core Laboratories Company.
