Wendell Joseph Navarre's Obituary
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Wendell Joseph Navarre on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born in Centreville, Mississippi on August 18, 1962, and spent the majority of his childhood in Gretna, Louisiana.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Lynda Verret Navarre; his children Christal Navarre, Ryan (Courtney) Navarre and Nicole Navarre; his grandchildren Sophia Navarre, Ada Navarre and Jessica Navarre. He is also survived by his siblings; Deborah Plauche, Wanda Navarre, and Sandra (Jorge) Ortega, his sisters-in-law Teri Verret and Louise LaBruyere, and nieces, nephews, cousins, and many wonderful lifelong friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter Joseph Navarre and Lucille Kass Navarre, and sibling, Walter Navarre Jr.
Biography
Wendell loved his career of 42 years as an Electrical Engineer, working for Entergy until retirement, Southern Power, and Power Connections. After retiring, he continued his career as an independent contractor working with B&B Electrical & Utility Contractors, Inc. He graduated from UNO with his Bachelor of Science in Engineering. He worked beside many during his career that became cherished friends.
Wendell loved spending time with his family, enjoying camping and spoiling his granddaughters at Disney.
Flowers are welcome, however, in lieu of flowers, contributions in memory of Wendell may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial mass at E. J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 West 21st Avenue, Covington, Louisiana on Saturday March 29, 2025 at 11:00AM with a visitation beginning at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Gardens on a later date.
