Actually, I have many great memories of Owen with the two of us close friends growing up and I'd like to share a few:
First, we were at a girlfriends house hosting a crawfish boil as the designated boiling "experts". Having watched Mr. Wayne Weilbaecher boil often around their pool, we were confident in our abilities. After ruining the first three sacks because of over-boiling, we call Mr. Wayne who set us straight. So, most people starved that day and it was a bit embarrassing, but we learned a lesson. Thank you Mr. Wayne.
Owen was the best Athlete of the neighborhood guys and we always had some sport to play. He seemed to develop skills quicker than the rest of us....except for water skiing. Once I was pulling him behind my boat and when he fell, he didn't let go of the rope and was porpoising through the water. When I asked him why he didn't let go of the rope he replied "YOU DIDN'T TELL ME TOO"!!! Classic.
Rest peacefully my friend.
