Warren G. Preble's Obituary
Warren G. Preble died on November 10, 2006 at his home in Abita Springs, La.
He was born September 6, 1917 in Topeka, KS to the late Claude R. and Elizabeth Gardner Preble and was a resident of St. Bernard and St. Tammany Parishes.
He is the beloved husband of Marie Louise Preble; loving father of Warren R. and John F. Preble; father-in-law of Lillian Orta and the late Ann O’ Brien. Two grandsons, Andrew and William Preble, also survive him.
A graduate of Tulane University, Mr. Preble was a Mathematician for the Corps of Engineers. He organized the St. Bernard Chess Club and Stamp Club; and was instrumental in organizing the St. Bernard Public Library and the Carolyn Park Presbyterian Church.
He was the recipient of numerous civic awards. Mr. Preble served as the first President of the St. Bernard Council on Aging and was President of the St. Bernard and St. Tammany Associations of Retired Federal Employees.
He was most recently a member of Faith Presbyterian Church in Covington.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Memorial Services on Monday, November 13, 2006 at 10:00 AM from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home Inc., 2260 W. 21st Ave., Covington, LA 70433.
Visitation will begin Monday at 9:30 AM. Interment will follow Services at the Abita Springs City Cemetery.
