Walter "Butch" Wesley Whitehead's Obituary
Walter Wesley “Butch” Whitehead, Jr. passed away at his home on Tuesday, September 20, 2011. A resident of Bush, LA for most of his life, he was born April 7, 1948 in Tylertown, MS to the late Walter Wesley, Sr. and Eva Granger Whitehead.
The beloved husband of Helen Jenkins Whitehead, he is survived by three daughters: Andia Pearson, Sherry Westmoreland and Anita Nastasi; seven sisters: Juanita Jenkins, Wyoma Howell, Lela Gottschalk, Peggy King, Betty Spencer, Dorothy Hill and Mary Lynn Anthony; two brothers, Floyd and Eugene “Buster” Whitehead; seven grandchildren: Jessica Cheatrau, Justin Mire, Charlieann and Robert Wesley Westmoreland and Charles Ray Westmoreland, Jr., Alexis “Tator” and Evan “Dennis the Menace” Nastasi; two great grandchildren, Jeffery Wayne Joiner and Courtney “Scooter” Collins; one honorary granddaughter, Mariana Erickson; his special friend, Wilda “Woody” Bateman and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Wesley W. Whitehead; one granddaughter, Amanda Kay Whitehead; three brothers: Thomas, Dewitt and Lloyd “Jake” Whitehead and one sister, Louise “Pigeon” Gill.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 24, 2011 at Sharp’s Chapel Church of God, 22191 Sharp’s Chapel Rd. Bush, LA 70431.
A wake is scheduled for Friday, September 23, 2011 from 5-9:00 PM at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st Ave. Covington, LA 70433 with visiting hours beginning Saturday at Sharp’s Chapel at 9:00 AM.
Interment at Sharp’s Chapel Cemetery in Bush will immediately follow services.
