In thinking today about the people who helped me most in life, Tom Stubbs was the first person who came to mind. In 1981, I entered the automotive industry in Metairie where Mr. Stubbs was a Manager. I was a boy with little direction, just out of college looking for a part time job. That job became a career thanks to the advice and guidance of Tom Stubbs. But more importantly, Mr. Stubbs taught me a great deal about the importance of being accountable for my actions and inactions and of behaving responsibly. Sometimes it was painful, but he never let me off the hook and for that I am eternally grateful. He helped build my character; he helped me become a man. I have never forgotten him. I never will.
