I will always remember Walter taking my brother Chris, my daughter Cassie, and I up in his plane. Also on his boat. He was a great guy.

Joanne, sorry I couldn't be there, but his memory will live on with all his radio pals.. Truly sorry for your/our loss.. He and you are in our prayers..
I met Walter a little over 3 years ago and we hit it off immediately. We became fast friends and talked weekly up to a few weeks ago. Whether it was radio comms or the TV show Chicago PD, I cherished those calls. Such a fighter! Rest in peace my friend.
So very sorry for your loss. I will pray for you and Walter.

Our dearest Jo –
Our hearts ache! We send our deepest sympathy, love, and prayers to you and family. Walt is now at peace with Our Father. We will miss him greatly and cherish the many memories of times shared together here in Covington and in Houston.
We will always remember spending so much time together at our condos in the same apartment complex in Houston, sharing meals or just spending quiet times at MDA as we tried to keep our thoughts off medical procedures. I smile when I remember shopping for unusual hats and Ron and Walt flying their battery-operated mini-helicopters all around inside our condos, and once when Walt flew his mini-helicopter right over your head and surprised you as you were trying to read!
Joanne, you did everything humanly possible for Walt continually by his side – we hope that you will find solace in knowing that Walt received the best possible treatment in every instance because of your loving care, diligence, and attention to every single detail. You are a one-of-a-kind gem! We love you both dearly and we pray for your peace and emotional comfort in the coming days.

To JoAnn and the rest of the family,
I am so sorry for your loss.Walter was a fine man. I worked with him years ago and while we sometime butted heads, I always respected him. I enjoyed and agreed with his Facebook posts in recent years. He was always spot on in his observations of the events happening around us all. He will be missed.
