Wallace M. Chaplain's Obituary
Wallace Milton Chaplain, Sr. passed away on Thursday, December 2, 2009.
Beloved husband of the late Geraldine Estelle “Gerry” Chaplain. Father of Diane Ferguson, Wallace Chaplain, Jr., Janet Chaplain-Leonard and Karen Chaplain. Grandfather of Alison Crane, Brandie Chaplain, Samantha Chaplain and Brandon Chaplain. Brother of Melvin Chaplain and the late Lester Chaplain, Charles Chaplain and Henry Thompson.
He was a decorated veteran of WWII, an active member of AAL and later Thrivent for Lutherans and an active bowler until the age of 82. A member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Covington, LA.
Age 86 years. A native of New Orleans, LA, a longtime resident of Covington, LA and a resident of the Southeast LA War Veterans Home in Reserve for the past year.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from Christ The King Lutheran Church, 1001 W. Esplanade Ave., Kenner, LA 70065 on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 10:00 AM. Visitation, AT THE CHURCH, from 9:00 AM until service time.
Interment in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum at 12:00 Noon.
In lieu of flowers, the family would prefer donations to the Alzheimer’s Association, 2605 River Rd., New Orleans, LA 70121.
